..qui c'va bien, merci
...this French business is getting uncanny...my middle name is Louise as well !!!
Oh okay its not really its Glyn which doesnt mean that my name is Glyn-Glyn ..its just means that I'm not known by my first name, not an uncommon thing for the welsh apparently ..I also heard a welsh folk tale that its cos when the Devil comes calling he'll be using your first name and thus you wont look over yer shoulder..to be honest if I dont stop cranking up Leons super selection of Freakbeat Folly...the Devil can be shouting loud as he likes I aint gonna hear him !!
Now listen ear !! My french was never great but what I first thought plume de mon tante est bleu was that you have a nice blue feather in yer hat, which adds a little panache to the day, then it actually works out to be Your Aunties Pen is Blue !!! ...is it some sort of MOD code ? ...whilst I was endeavouring to unwrap this code I stumbled across the equally perplexing; Il y a un fête de Tupperware chez Sandrine ce soir....is this true ? Is Sandrine really having a tupperware party ? If so I must be out of favour cos I never got an invite !!
about the PH's..I will certainly ask about the lady singer, I trust I have an idea of who that might be and they will confirm accordingly !! I'm sure Mark enjoyed his bash, they really are top quality and equally I cant wait for mine...hoping to get everyone dressed nicely MOD whilst allowing Skin & Punk for bald blokes and fun whilst avoiding any ideas of the usual 60's fancy dress and fuzzy wigs...HIPPIES WILL BE SHOT ON SITE....ooohh get me its my party and I'll cry if I want to ..eh!! The boys are playing Hitchin this Sat and we have friends down from up north, so unless me and the other gent get a pass to sneak out I'll have to miss out..though I suggest that by the time my party happens the PH's might need a restraining order against me stalking them..I'm really no harm (I do bite) just wholly enjoying getting genned up on the scene, especially the music.
Well all this talk of sofistication and good times eh...to the contrary I know what you mean about the beer swilling and throwing brigade and would be a hypocrite not to confess to the odd partaking not least bordering the periphery of the loony mob but I have my limits..and as such should have know better than to have my Baracutta dry cleaned beforehand !! to the same...a well dressed Mod had launched a guy across the floor for repeatedly stomping on his shoes.
I'm not on Face Book..not sure about it and given the essays here its probably best I'm not..well thats lunch over...work to do must dash back to reality.
Hope you and Mark have a special weekend.
Be cool, A bientot.
Glyn H.
Thank you for you message...even if all this talk of Wales has brought its weather this way...what a grotty afternoon mate !! ...but what a morning...not sure if it / they / the whole re-happening floats yer boat but I got tickets this morning to see The Specials(again) in November playing at the Ham Apollo...if interested and not sure where in Essex you are to know how local its is for ya but they are playin in Southend as well.
Well down to business then..I've paid my pennance; thoroughly washed my mush out and had m'head slapped about accordingly...but mainly cos I had a tooth pulled last week !!!..£900 to save it or £150 to have the bugger out..hardly what I call multiple choice ??
and so..to further business; as for the name Glyn being cute..apparently in Wales it is viewed as being a bit of a "Kev" name and for chaps who wear white socks !!! F'in disgrace I'm havin none of that...well not since I lost the Farahs and Filas back in the day..but dont tell anyone..pleeease
...and so to further further business, I did wonder if in this small world of Mod that the Glyn to whom you referred is Glyn Tomlinson..and heres the weird twist..I too live in Stevenage, was introduced to GlynT & Kerry by our neighbour Jo who has been a long time friend of GT's, we went to see the PH play last year and I have booked them for my Birthday party (ahem 40th!!) in September. GT and I met at the venue to go through stuff and he seems a top chap, proper cheeky, good lookin, proper face type..and so in this world for every Ying theres the Yang...me..same name..bald-over-weight-mod-wanna be...oh well!! Trust therfore you probably know Leon Hoodlum as well..I bumped in to him outside the Specials gig in Brixton and have since met up cos he's done me some CD's of the stuff the band play and some Freakbeat compilations....Its been three weeks and I havent stopped listening to them..bloody fantastic.
as for Adams..I'm yet to become a customer this mod happening is all tied in to my pre-planned mid-life crisis..given the funds it'll be a scooter next TV2 or SX but meantime I think I'll have to settle on a pair of Adams Prince of Wales Check Trousers which I think will go just dandy with m'brogues.
...well I hope yer still awake after the essay ?
Best regards & Bon Nuit...
Glyn ( and for the record... surname Hughes)
Just back from visiting family in Mid Wales, empassioned by scenery and fresh air but freaked out by the people...hope you had a good wkend too. Got yer message and cant help but think that every one deserves a second chance and so, mindful that I may have appeared a little patronising to the dear girl I thought the afore mentioned Marlie Lott might find the following "leg up" just what she needs;

Ahem..."MY Glyn" ...no I dont believe we've met perhaps my familiarity or my name, alternatively & accordingly enlighten me ?
Regards, Glyn
I thought she was quite cute !!
..you made me larf and..Yeah..I know, I'm now gonna have to do church this wkend !!
Thought I'd just say hi and have a good weekend whatever you do..presuming that the weather is good I've a fair idea it'll involve wheels.
Best Regards, Glyn
I must say Small Faces sound alright now. At the time we or I didnt rate them as thought Who more mod . It turns out it wasnt true as Who were created.
I dont think Mods danced much to groups like Who or Small Faces . They were both pop phenomena and record people. I did see Who live in Sixties in small gig and very good but most groups of course werent mod and mods listened to records or ska and blues artists.
